At the International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) 2022 on September 20, 2022, I presented a poster titled “Gender Inequalities in the Allocation of Time to Household Production in Nepal.”
I presented how household labor is divided between men and women, uncovering significant disparities in time allocation. The research shed light on the social and economic implications of unequal household responsibilities, particularly in the context of Nepal.
At the 19th Annual Himalayan Policy Research Conference (HPRC) on December 8, 2024, I co-presented a paper with Siddhartha Rayamajhi and Pradhyumna Wagle on the "Determinants of Female Labor Force Participation in Nepal."
Our research highlighted the socio-economic, demographic, and institutional factors that shape women’s participation in the workforce. The presentation sparked insightful discussions on the barriers women face and the policy interventions needed to create more inclusive labor markets in Nepal.
The seminar brought together diverse perspectives and fostered meaningful dialogue on a critical issue shaping Nepal’s education and development landscape. Contributed to such an important conversation on student migration for Nepal.
PS: Just a small note - my surname is Dhungel, not Dhungana, slight mistake on the poster.
Shared my professional journey at the Knowledge Series hosted by Nepal Economic Forum (NEF) and engage with young fellows and interns. It was inspiring to exchange ideas, reflect on my career beginnings at NEF, and connect with the next generation of professionals.
